God and His "big" plans for us?

This is my first ever 'blog' post that I wrote on the 21st of October 2020. The idea of having a blog then wasn't on my mind and I just got emotional remembering this because I wrote it less than 2 months after being saved and lately I have been having doubts whether God does really want me to blog (sorry for skipping last week, I had nothing to say and was working through my doubts) or ngoba ngiyaphapha. What a wonderful God He is that He prepares us even before knowing.

Key verse: Proverbs 16:9 We are always talking about how the plans God has for us are big but what exactly is BIG?

We all have dreams right? For example, I want to become a CA. But let's say that is not what God wants for me. Heart breaking right? Let me tell you all something, if I was not saved, and I saw myself not becoming a CA, my heart would be SORE. Lol, yazini! But now, I'm currently at a point in my life where I'm like, God, I don't care what I become anymore. What I wanted for myself doesn't matter if that is not what You want. I just want to glorify You wherever I am placed, even if that place is being a housewife!

So big doesn't literally mean BIG, at least based on worldly standards. What looks like foolishness in the world is great in the Kingdom of God. Let me sing: “It's foolishness I know but Your foolishness is wiser than my wisest, wiser, and wiser...” You all know that song mos? Imagine I become a housewife, people would probably ask, "What happened to the "big" dreams you had for your life?" And they would think that I am crazy if I told them that this is the BIG plan that God had for my life (Proverbs 16:9).

God's big plan for you, is a life that glorifies Him and a life that serves others. It does not matter whether you are a cleaner or a CEO, if you glorify Him and serve others, then that is the big plan He has for your life. As simple as that. In Matthew 20:25-28, Jesus said the rulers of the Gentiles lord over them and that the great people exercise authority over them. But He goes on to say that it shall not be so amongst us believers. Because whoever wants to be great must be a servant and whoever is first must be a slave because even He didn't come to be served but to serve and give His life as a ransom for many. And we also know that Jesus's life glorified God because He fulfilled God's will.

Wherever you are, if that is God's will for your life then it is BIG! Do not let anyone tell you otherwise. So please do not be pressured into becoming something ‘BIG’ based on the standards of the world. Hear me out, there is nothing wrong with that but there is everything wrong if wherever you are placed you are not glorifying God and serving others.

Yours in Christ Gugulikayise
